Administrative Manager

Nashville Public Television seeks an Administrative Manager to support operations by planning, organizing and implementing administrative operations and services. The ideal candidate must be an adept multitasker and have strong organizational skills. Duties include managing the customer service staff, performing payroll and human resource related duties, assisting with grant reporting, managing tenant relations, and managing the operational budget and negotiations with vendors. This position provides support to senior management, including the President & CEO, and working closely with the CEO, is the liaison to the Board of Directors. The Administrative Manager will ensure compliance with the FCC, EEO and other government and industry regulations.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience including supervisory experience; strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Ability to plan, organize and integrate priorities and deadlines independently; evaluate and make recommendations for continuous efficiency and operational budget savings. Accuracy, flexibility, dependability and discretion required in working with confidential information. Excellent working knowledge of standard computer software, including Word and Excel.

Corporate Development and Events Manager

Nashville Public Television seeks a Corporate Development and Events Manager to manage and grow NPT’s corporate sponsorship program for program and production underwriting as well as manage a variety of fundraising and community events. The ideal candidate will be skilled at developing strong and mutually beneficial relationships with businesses and corporations, resulting in growth and development of corporate revenue. This position will also be responsible for implementing NPT’s major annual fundraising events and soliciting sponsorships for those events. A flexible and nimble approach to working in the constantly changing environment of public media will also be an important quality in the successful candidate.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of five (5) years of responsible and successful fundraising experience or media/sponsorship sales; ability to reach and work effectively with corporate decision-makers; strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, especially in writing and presenting funding proposals; detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills; working knowledge of standard computer software, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. The ability to work nights and weekends is a requirement of this position.

TV Production Internship Opportunities

The deadline for Summer 2015 internships is April 24, 2015.

NPT provides unpaid internships for students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in television production and equipment operation.

Internships may be tailored to meet specific areas of interest. However, the basic focus of the program is behind-the-scenes production work, providing students with experience in both live and taped shows. The internship also includes non-broadcast related activities, such as studio set-up and maintenance.

  • Responsibilities include:
  • Studio camera operations
  • Prompter operations
  • Non linear editing
  • Grip and studio set-up work
  • Assist with electronic field production
  • Other production related tasks as time permits

Motivated and committed individuals will benefit the most from this program. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.

First preference is given to college students who need credit hours.
