Nashville Public Television seeks a successful, seasoned senior executive to work collaboratively on major community projects from inception through execution, on a variety of distribution platforms. NPT strongly believes in local community engagement and service and seeks to bolster our efforts in this area.  This new position will report directly to the President and CEO and will work laterally across departments. Qualifications: Minimum 15 years’ experience in funding, developing, and creating content for local public television stations, ten years supervisory experience, and a Bachelor’s degree.  A true belief in the community-focused mission of NPT is essential. Working knowledge of FCC, CPB, and PBS rules and regulations.

TV Production Internship Opportunities

Our Fall 2014 internships have been filled.  The deadline for Spring 2015 internships is December 5, 2014.

NPT provides unpaid internships for students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in television production and equipment operation.

Internships may be tailored to meet specific areas of interest. However, the basic focus of the program is behind-the-scenes production work, providing students with experience in both live and taped shows. The internship also includes non-broadcast related activities, such as studio set-up and maintenance.

  • Responsibilities include:
  • Studio camera operations
  • Prompter operations
  • Non linear editing
  • Grip and studio set-up work
  • Assist with electronic field production
  • Other production related tasks as time permits

Motivated and committed individuals will benefit the most from this program. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.

First preference is given to college students who need credit hours.
