Graphic Designer/Social Media Specialist (posted on June 22, 2016)
Nashville Public Television seeks a talented graphic designer with experience in all social media platforms to help develop and execute NPT’s graphic design and visual branding campaigns for print, web and social media. This position will be responsible for creating graphics for print, broadcast and online promotion as well as fundraising and special event initiatives. The position will also be a key contributor to NPT’s overall social media strategy, implementing social media campaigns to build NPT’s digital presence. In addition this position will track and analyze the success of social media and other online campaigns, and will provide strategic direction for future campaigns to boost NPT’s reach to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong graphic design background and will be skilled in all platforms of digital communications. A strong understanding of analytics is preferred and a background in coding and experience working with CMS frameworks is a plus. Experience with video production and editing for the web and social media is also a plus for this position.
5+ years of experience working with digital communications and graphic design and a solid track record of successful online communications strategies are required. The ability to work nights and weekends is a requirement of this position. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

TV Production Internship Opportunities
All of our Summer 2016 internships have been filled. The deadline for Fall 2016 is August 19, 2016.
NPT provides unpaid internships for students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in television production and equipment operation.
Internships may be tailored to meet specific areas of interest. However, the basic focus of the program is behind-the-scenes production work, providing students with experience in both live and taped shows. The internship also includes non-broadcast related activities, such as studio set-up and maintenance.
- Run prompter
- Edit weekly promos and other non linear editing
- Grip and studio set-up work
- Assist on field shoots
- Log interviews
- Other production related tasks as time permits
Motivated and committed individuals will benefit the most from this program. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.
First preference is given to college students who need credit hours.
IMPORTANT: Candidates must be available for at least two 5 hour blocks of time during normal business hours.
