Nashville PBS is the home to PBS for Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky, dedicated to fostering a love of learning, culture, and community using the power of public media. We deliver high-quality PBS programs along with content by and about the people of our region. Our content is available for free through our four broadcast channels, on our website, social media, and via the PBS app. We engage deeply with the community through partnerships, events, and outreach, providing educational resources and access to arts and cultural experiences.
We’re changing our name to Nashville PBS to better reflect who we are today and to make it easier for you to connect with us. As Nashville’s PBS station, we’ve been serving this community for over 60 years with quality educational, cultural, civic, and entertaining programming. While embracing our deep roots in Nashville, we also want to highlight our connection to PBS, the national network you know and trust. It’s a way to honor our legacy and embrace the future.
Nashville PBS is an independent nonprofit organization and a member of the PBS network. We are the vital link that provides PBS services customized to our local community and viewers like you. PBS is a private nonprofit corporation made up of 350 member stations serving all 50 states, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa. Nashville PBS focuses on serving the Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky regions. PBS cannot exist without member stations like Nashville PBS. Thank you for supporting us!
Absolutely! We’re still producing your favorite local shows like Tennessee Crossroads and Volunteer Gardener, and we’re excited to expand them in more ways than ever. You’ll continue to enjoy these programs on-air, but we’re also offering more content online—behind-the-scenes extras, digital exclusives, and more opportunities to engage with the stories and people you love.
No need to change your saved favorites. Our station call letters will always be WNPT. If you’re watching over the air, you’ll find us on channels 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, and 8.4. We are also available through most cable or satellite providers, though the channel number may vary.
The Nashville PBS live stream is a free online streaming simulcast of our main Nashville PBS television channel. It is currently available on our website and the free PBS App on various devices including Android, iOS, Roku, and more.
