Corporate Account Executive (Contract)
This (contract) position is responsible for securing funding and sponsorships from corporations and businesses. Responsibilities include identifying prospective sponsors, building long-term relationships, developing custom sponsorship proposals (underwriting), and managing existing client accounts to meet revenue targets. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to connect Nashville’s business and philanthropic communities to public media that serves the middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky viewing area. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, outgoing, detail-oriented, and excellent at follow-through.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Corporate Underwriting, Prospecting & Development: Identify, cultivate, and close new corporate underwriting agreements for Nashville PBS programming.
- Build and maintain an active pipeline of prospects from initial contact through signed contracts and renewals.
- Partnership Package Development: Design comprehensive corporate partnership opportunities beyond traditional underwriting, including event sponsorships, digital marketing integrations, and community engagement packages.
- Once contracts are secured, work closely with production and traffic to ensure that all deliverables are completed.
- Underwriter Stewardship: Maintain active relationships with current underwriters through regular contact, fulfillment reporting, and renewal cultivation to maximize retention and revenue growth.
- Business Community Engagement: Attend chamber events, business networking functions, and industry meetings to build and expand corporate relationships throughout middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky viewing areas.
- Operate within the framework established by Nashville PBS Foundation’s policies, procedures, and practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills & Abilities:
The Corporate Account Executive (Contract) at Nashville PBS (WNPT) is a high-impact, revenue-focused professional responsible for securing corporate sponsorships and underwriting support. This role combines a deep knowledge of the Nashville media market and FCC non-commercial regulations with a consultative approach to business development.Beyond traditional broadcast sales, they possess a deep fluency in multi-platform digital solutions and a refined ability to communicate with C-suite executives and local business leaders. Success in this role requires a blend of exceptional interpersonal skills, disciplined CRM management, and a commitment to maintaining the high standards of the PBS brand while consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and significant, relevant work experience preferred. Minimum of 1–3 years of B2B sales experience, with a strong preference for media sales, advertising, or corporate underwriting. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and cold-calling prospects to build a new book of business. Experience in the media market is highly desirable.

Membership Manager
The Membership Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Nashville PBS’s base membership program, managing donors giving under $1,000 with a focus on acquisition, renewal, and retention. Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, this role ensures exceptional full life cycle customer service while maintaining accurate donor records, processing contributions, and supporting financial reconciliation. The Membership Manager also plays a key role in prospecting and donor research, stewardship activities, and on-air fundraising drives. In addition, this position represents Nashville PBS at community events by setting up and managing the membership table to engage attendees and cultivate new supporters. Through strong database management, donor engagement, and event participation, the Membership Manager helps build lasting relationships that sustain and grow the station’s mission.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the member database (REV CRM), including data entry for gifts, pledges, EFTs, credit cards, matching gifts, and other member transactions.
- Oversee and administer Nashville PBS’s EFT and credit card installment programs, including recurring gift processing and troubleshooting.
- Manage base membership donors giving under $1,000, including acquisition, renewal, and retention strategies to grow long-term support.
- Conduct prospecting and donor qualification research for up to 5 hours per week, with regular reporting to support findings and inform cultivation strategies.
- Provide daily full life cycle customer service, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional communication with members from initial contact through renewal and ongoing stewardship.
- Manage on-air fundraising drives including daily reporting, donor uploads, and other system-related tasks; willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends during drives.
- Prepare and distribute donor acknowledgement letters, pledge reminders, and installment statements to ensure timely and accurate stewardship.
- Collaborate with the Development and Finance teams to reconcile fundraising income, manage deposits, and maintain accurate financial reporting related to membership contributions.
- Serve as a department resource for database and software troubleshooting, while helping streamline systems and processes.
- Provide regular reporting and analysis on membership trends, revenue, and retention.
- Assist with donor relations and customer service, including timely responses to member inquiries by phone, mail, and email.
- Support cultivation and stewardship efforts, including member events and recognition activities.
- Set up and manage a membership table at every Nashville PBS event, serving as an on-site representative to engage attendees, answer questions, and encourage donor participation. Providing support at all Nashville PBS related events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of membership fundraising and donor stewardship, with excellent customer service and communication skills. Proficiency in database management, Microsoft Office, and donor research. Ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze data, and generate reports. Skilled in event support and public engagement, with strong organizational and interpersonal abilities. Flexibility to work occasionally evenings and weekends as needed.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum two years’ relevant experience, preferably in the nonprofit arena. Customer service experience, a plus.
